Visa to Denmark
Both scientific participants and accompanying persons from outside the EU (e.g. US and Asia) are urged in due time to check if a visa is required to enter Denmark at the homepage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Copenhagen Airport
Copenhagen Airport Kastrup is the largest airport in Scandinavia and well connected to major airports in both Europe, Asia and North America. There is direct train and metro connection from the airport to the city centre for about 4 Euro. Travel time is about 15 minutes.
Commuting in Copenhagen
Copenhagen is well connected by Metro, S-train (to suburbs), regular trains and busses. The ticket system is unified allowing free change between any transportation within the time limit of the ticket (minimum one hour). A multiple-ride card is strongly recommended (~50% discount).
General Turist Information
Wonderful Copenhagen. "Hamlet's" castle Kronborg (30 min. away by train). The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde (30 min. away by train). Roskilde Cathedral dates back to the 13th century and every Danish king (and one queen) has been burried there for the last six centuries.
Currency in Denmark
Denmark has its own currency, the Danish Crown ("krone", abbreviation "Kr"). The exchange rate is approximately 1 Euro to 7.50 Kr.
All major international credit cards can be used in shops and ATMs.

In August day temperature is typically 20-25°C, at night 12-15 °C. A few rain showers and some wind is not unusual.
